As The Commonhold & Leasehold Reform Act progressed through Parliament all the initial hopes of worthwhile reform were dispelled and leaseholders felt they were justified in thinking that a deal was being done between the Government and landlords. 2007 June the Office of Fair Trading launched a study into UK housebuilding market. A large percentage of current housebuilding is marketed as leasehold or shared ownership of leases and it was only right that they consider evidence regarding leasehold.
