Closing date for submissions 2007 February 7th.
The focus of Towards the Mayor’s Housing Strategy is primarily on the seven areas of:-
1) Putting people first
2) Building more homes
3) Building the right homes in the right places
4) Designing places where people want to live
5) Reviewing intermediate housing
6) Promoting choice and mobility
7) Tackling climate change
The Mayor's taking over of London's Housing Strategy is delayed until the relevant legislation has completed its passage through Parliament - now expected after the 2007 Summer recess. In the meantime the strategy rests with the Government Office for London and can be seen at Capital Homes.
Once the Mayor has his powers formalised then he will publish a revised version following consideration of the consultation and this will be considered by the Greater London Assembly and then there will be further consultation on a version incorporating the assembly's alterations.
